Jubilee Garden Party at Mount Battenhall

People enjoying the jubilee event at Mount Battenhall

We love any excuse to hold a party and what better reason than the Queen celebrating 70 years on the throne.

The weather was warm and sunny, enabling us to use the beautiful, landscaped gardens at Mount Battenhall. On arrival guests relaxed on the terrace furniture with a refreshing Pimms whilst listening to the dulcet tones of The Polka Dot Peaches who performed swing and vintage tunes.

Our Jubilee buffet proved popular with party staples, cream teas, fruit, cakes and a local vintage ice cream seller arrived on his bicycle and the delicious flavours tempted young and old alike.

We paused whilst we welcomed Georgina Britten-Long and her family, Georgina is Percy Allsopps Great Granddaughter and is a regular visitor to the village. We love hearing her stories about her ancestors and their lives whilst living at Mount Battenhall. However, for this visit, she “wore” her Deputy Lieutenant of Worcestershire hat and planted a winter flowering cherry tree in honour of The Queens Green Canopy.

Following the planting, the children (and adults) were entertained by a magician and Punch and Judy show which brought smiles and laughter to our guests, many donning balloon hats or holding balloon flowers.

The day was a great success and enjoyed by our owners, prospective owners, the local community and their families.
