I think we moved at the right time. A lot of people say they left it too late. You need to move while you can still settle, enjoy it, and make more friends. It's better to make the decision yourself rather than having your family decide these things for you.

I'd say to anyone considering moving here - do it! I can't see any disadvantages. One of the biggest benefits is being among like-minded people. It's a gated community which gives you peace of mind. Before we moved, some days we didn't see anybody unless we went out. Here, there's always company.

Downsizing was easier knowing everyone here has done it. We all understand exactly how you feel. When I measured the space in my old house, minus the hall, stairs, and landing, this apartment wasn't that different in size. You bring what you need, and though some items are sentimental, you realise what's practical.

What I love most is not having to worry about maintenance anymore. Houses get dilapidated, and it's difficult to keep up with guttering, roofing, and other expensive jobs. Here, it's all taken care of - they even take out your bins three times a week, and you get weekly cleaning assistance.
