A Taste of the Caribbean Comes to Mount Battenhall

Vibrant colours, exotic cocktails and sun-kissed flavours set the tone for our July event. On Saturday 6th July, our owners, their guests, and people discovering Mount Battenhall for the first time gathered for an afternoon of Caribbean-inspired cuisine and entertainment.
Our guests wholeheartedly embraced the Caribbean spirit, donning colourful floral shirts and outfits. As they arrived, guests were welcomed with refreshing rum and fruit cocktails. Adding to the carnival atmosphere, local entertainer Richie Vee captivated the audience with reggae classics and hits from the 1970s.

Authentic Flavours
The culinary highlight of the afternoon was an array of delicious Caribbean dishes prepared by Mount Battenhall’s chef, Leah Edmunds. With Jamaican and Cuban heritage, Leah was keen to share authentic island flavours including lamb and vegetable patties and moreish jerk chicken.
The event also supported local charities, including Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven, who provide practical and emotional support to local people. Their dedicated volunteer Clare Stokes attended and helped raise an impressive £100 from the generous contributions of our kind-hearted guests.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our attendees for making the afternoon truly memorable. We look forward to welcoming you to our upcoming August gathering.
