An Evening of Wine Discovery at Mount Battenhall

A woman pouring wine

The elegant surroundings of Mount Battenhall’s historic Allsopp’s Bar recently hosted an exclusive wine-tasting evening. The retirement community’s homeowners embraced their inner sommeliers to help shape the village’s new wine selection.

Women tasting wine

Working in partnership with Worcester’s prestigious Bottles Wine Merchants, the evening brought together enthusiastic residents eager to sample and score an expertly curated selection of wines from across the globe. From the sun-drenched vineyards of Australia to the rolling hills of France, Italy, and Spain. Each carefully chosen bottle offered a unique story and flavour profile.

Expertise Meets Experience

Hannah Webb from Bottles Wine Merchants guided the panel through their tasting journey, sharing her passion and extensive knowledge of each wine. Armed with scorecards, residents thoughtfully evaluated eleven wines. Carefully considering their merits and potential place on Mount Battenhall’s carefully crafted wine list.

“Hospitality (and wine) is a true passion of mine. It was a joy to share this at the wine tasting event,” Hannah explained. “Working with winemakers and wines from across the world, we are thrilled to support Mount Battenhall and its homeowners in curating a truly unique wine list.”

Community Spirit in Full Flow

The evening exemplified Mount Battenhall’s commitment to homeowner involvement in village life. Clare Davies, general manager, reflected this sentiment: “We were thrilled to welcome Hannah from Bottles to share her incredible knowledge and enthusiasm with our homeowners.

“It is important to ensure the people living here are involved in everything we do and the services we provide. The wine tasting evening was a fantastic opportunity for people to participate and further enhance our retirement community.”

It was an excellent presentation and the host was brilliant. There were 11 wines in all and it was very interesting to hear all about them. I think these events are fantastic because they do get people engaged.
