Summer Celebration Raises Funds for Local Hospice

Our annual summer celebration brought together homeowners, families, and friends for an unforgettable afternoon that combined wonderful entertainment with charitable giving. The event successfully raised £190 for Acorns Children’s Hospice, demonstrating our community’s commitment to supporting local causes.
The Perfect Setting for Summer Festivities
Mount Battenhall’s beautiful 6.4-acre grounds provided an idyllic backdrop for the Summer Garden Party. Attendees were welcomed with a refreshing summer punch while enjoying melodies from talented local performer Amy Johnson. A mouth-watering hog roast and perfectly chilled drinks from the bar made for the perfect summer’s afternoon. The day’s most memorable moment occurred when Brian Emerson, our duty manager, made a theatrical entrance aboard a vintage ice cream bicycle. Dressed in traditional vendor attire complete with apron and straw boater, his surprise appearance delighted everyone present and introduced our newest local partner, Bennetts Ice Cream.
It was lovely to spend a nice summer afternoon in our beautiful gardens with such great company. The entertainment was excellent, the singers really were good. The highlight was Brian, our duty manager, riding in on his ice cream bike. It’s a sight we’ll never let him forget!

Supporting Our Local Community
Tom Newitt, marketing manager for Mount Battenhall, reflected on the event’s success: “Events like this perfectly capture why we love what we do — bringing our community together to spend quality time with friends and family, sharing laughter and creating lasting memories in our beautiful gardens. This is exactly what retirement living should be about! We’re also incredibly grateful to everyone who helped us raise £190 for Acorns Children’s Hospice — it’s wonderful when our community events can support such a worthy local cause.”
