Lockdown activities

A bush of pink flowers

Owners at our villages usually enjoy a wide range of regular social activities and special events, but in the current situation where we have to respect social-distancing, this just isn’t possible. The teams on the ground are, however, making sure everyone is safe and well cared for by keeping in daily contact, doing shopping, collecting prescriptions, and delivering meals where required.

In addition, extra efforts are being made to provide activities that owners can enjoy in their own homes – handouts containing quizzes and puzzles to keep minds active, and funny anecdotes to bring some much needed light-hearted relief.

Both our current villages also have lovely grounds and gardens which are still being maintained and which, in the lovely weather we’ve been having recently, offer the opportunity to get a little exercise, enjoy the flowers, and have a chat – at a safe distance, of course – with neighbours.

A new idea will also be trialled at Boughton Hall this week by staging a virtual Cocktail Evening when cocktails and nibbles will be delivered to all the apartments. Not quite the same, it has to be said, as socialising in the bar, but it’s hoped that everyone will feel connected by knowing they’re sharing an event – and a tipple – and some owners may even choose to extend this to a video link where they have the technology.
