MP Praises Red House’s Impact on Senior Living in Ripon

Rt Hon Sir Julian Smith at the home

The Red House Retirement Village recently welcomed Rt Hon Sir Julian Smith KCB CBE MP, demonstrating how modern retirement communities are transforming senior living in North Yorkshire.

During his visit, Sir Julian toured the village’s premium facilities, including the restaurant, library, fitness suite, and hair salon, before joining residents for refreshments. The tour highlighted how Integrated Retirement Communities blend independent living with community engagement.

“It is great to see the positive impact that Integrated Retirement Communities like The Red House have on the lives of their residents,” Sir Julian remarked. “These communities play a crucial role in providing high-quality living and community spaces, supporting older people to live independently and with dignity.”

Showcasing the Future of Retirement Living

The visit, coordinated with ARCO (Associated Retirement Community Operators), showcased how The Red House delivers excellence in senior living. ARCO’s policy manager, Sarina Kiayani, emphasized the community’s great approach: “Integrated Retirement Communities provide a balance between independent living and communal living, with residents having their own front doors and CQC-registered care delivered there if needed, and access to shared facilities such as lounges, restaurants and gyms within the wider community.”

Resident Sandra Allison shared her perspective: “It was interesting to meet Sir Julian, and we appreciate the time he spent with us finding out about retirement village living. I’m hopeful that his visit will help to promote the expansion of similar communities which we can certainly commend.”

Located within a mile of Ripon city centre, The Red House offers luxury retirement properties with 24/7 support, ensuring homeowners can enjoy their retirement years in a vibrant, supportive environment.
