Murder Mystery Evening Brings Crime-Solving Fun to Mount Battenhall

The spirit of detective work came alive at Mount Battenhall Retirement Village as homeowners embarked on an evening of mystery and investigation. Taking inspiration from the popular ‘Thursday Murder Club’ series, the Worcester-based community transformed into a scene straight from the 1980s, complete with period costumes and the iconic sounds of Live Aid.
A Night of Theatre and Teamwork
The Magor Amateur Dramatics Society captivated attendees with an immersive performance centred around the mysterious death of a local Postmistress. Residents and visitors gathered in the elegant Sprigg’s restaurant, where between courses of a gourmet dinner, they pieced together clues and debated theories about potential suspects.

Enthusiasm to solve the case was evident among participants, including homeowner Sally Young, who shared: “The murder mystery evening was thoroughly enjoyable, with a wonderful mix of theatrics, tongue-in-cheek humour, dinner, and drinks that kept us entertained all evening. Our table came in second place, and I’m already looking forward to attending again next year. I will be sure to make more notes next time though!”
This successful evening is just one example of Mount Battenhall’s diverse social calendar, which features activities ranging from literary gatherings and wellness sessions to wine appreciation events and themed dining experiences. These carefully curated events reflect the village’s commitment to fostering a vibrant, engaging community where homeowners can truly embrace their retirement years.
