Christmas Memories

The outside of The red house with snow

Here at Red House, we have been making the most out of an unusual Christmas period; we have been celebrating the special days like never before (socially distanced)! We even got presented with a little January snow for us all to enjoy. During this time, it resulted in us sharing our past Christmas memories like Mrs. Dawson’s: An Unusual Christmas.

“A few years after I was widowed, my brother, who lives in Western Australia, invited me to spend Christmas there. It was so different because we wore shorts and sun-tops and had a full turkey roast and trimmings served round the outdoor pool from the BBQ. There were about twenty of us. My nephew did the cooking as he had been a chef, and it was superb. It was followed by a swim in the pool, for those of us who were sober. A very happy memory.”

Along with these lovely past memories we have been continuing our Red House Riddler which is great fun for all. These were produced by our Duty Manager Sally Cunningham; she has written numerous quizzes and Riddler’s to keep our owners entertained during all the lockdowns.
